This Control Techniques servo motor was sent to us by a customer in the food industry. When we assessed the servo motor we found it to be in a very poor state. The shaft and keyway were worn, both bearing journals were worn and both bearing housings were worn and the front end-frame was severely corroded. This motor really was in a scrap condition, however we hold a large range of spare parts for the Dutymax servo motor so we proceeded to rebuild the motor. We took a new rotor, new front and rear end-shields, a brake service kit and a general assembly kit from our stores and rebuilt the motor. The resolver alignment was reset by our engineers and the servo motor and brake was fully load tested to OEM specification. Not to forget that this motor is used in a food manufacturing environment, we painted the motor with food grade paint before dispatching back to our customer. |
