2011 - Record investment in Electronic Drives & Controls, Diagnostics and Mechanical Calibration
2010 - Servo Motor workshop expanded again. After twenty years repairing Servos, we now repair 1000 units per year from Europe, UK, and USA.
2008 - Achieve status of SKF Certified Rebuilder of Electric Motors.
2008 - Geoff Rigby our Technical Manager was appointed to the Board of Directors.
2007 - Diane Mansell, our General Manager, was appointed to the Board of Directors.
- Major £250,000 investment into new equipment, workshops and development, including complete refurbishment of our servo motor workshop, new servo test equipment development, burn off oven for electric motor rewinds, digital surge tester and new flooring, lighting and heating for the workshops.
2006 – We celebrated 60 years as an independent family owned business
- Launched our on line e-spares parts shop.
2003 – Recognised as a confidential repairer of servo motors for a further 3 major OEM’s.
1997 – After buying the building next to our Stoke works, we moved our entire operations onto one site for all our services.
1996 - Matt Fletcher, son of Malcolm Fletcher, joined the company after gaining a BSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
- Fletcher Bickerton Ltd & Moorland Electronics Ltd were merged to form Fletcher Moorland Ltd
1988 – Became one of the first UK companies to receive BS 5750 (now BS EN ISO 9001: 2000)
- Formed a satellite works Fletcher Bickerton(Northern) Ltd , Trafford Park, Manchester
1985 – The only electro-mechanical repair shop in the North Midlands, and still to this day, operating manned workshops 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
1984 – Our company’s founder, Sam Fletcher, passes away in his eighty first year. The legacy he left of quality & service form the cornerstones of our business today.
1981 – Moorland Electronics Ltd was formed, possibly the first independent electronics repair company in the UK.
1970 – Fletcher Bickerton Ltd expanded into the complete electro-mechanical service market providing gearbox, pump and mechanical repairs alongside AC & DC motor repairs.
1966 – Malcolm Fletcher, son of Sam Fletcher, joined the company after completing his training at the English Electric Co.
1961 – Fletcher Bickerton Ltd was incorporated to takeover the original partnership of Electrical Rewinds & Supplies.
- S W Fletcher(Contracts)Ltd was incorporated. This was a diversification into specialist electro-mechanical manufacturing, as a subcontractor for a company involved in the nuclear propulsion industry.
1952 - Part of our present site, 32A Elenora Street, Stoke on Trent, was purchased. The building dating back to the 1850’s, was a former coal merchants yard.
1946 – “Electrical Rewinds & Supplies “ was formed by our founder as a partnership to repair and rewind electric motors for local industries such as pottery manufactures, coal mine, steelworks, tyre manufacture and quarries.
1916 – Sam Fletcher, our founder, began his apprenticeship at Howells Electric Motors Ltd., |
