Here, a 70Kw DC motor is being test run under load after the shunts and inter-poles were rewound. You can see from the clip-on ammeters the armature is drawing 140 amps. The covers have been removed so you can see the commutator; no sparking evident is one indicator of a successful repair. The final shot shows our instrumentation panel for the load test. This test was carried out at the maximum motor speed of 2300 rpm.
